The National Speed Skating Stadium, also known as the "Ice Ribbon", is located on the west side of Beijing Olympic Park and south of the National Tennis Center. The venue is about 220 meters long from north to south and 160 meters wide from east to west. It is divided into 4 floors above ground and 2 underground floors, with a total construction area of about 80,000 square meters. The venue is equipped with a 400-meter slide and about 12,000 spectator seats. It is a multifunctional ice sports center that integrates sports events, mass fitness, cultural leisure, exhibitions, and social welfare.

The “Ice Ribbon” of the National Speed Skating Stadium, the “Bird's Nest” of the National Stadium, and the “Water Cube” of the National Swimming Center together form the world's first “Bi Olympic City” landmark building group.

The facade of the National Speed Skating Stadium is assembled by 3360 curved glass units, each of which has a different curved arc. At the same time, there are 22 “ice ribbons” that circle around the curtain wall, and they seem to dance around, symbolizing the "ice ribbon" of the Beijing Winter Olympics is interwoven into a cocoon, and a new generation of Olympic stars will emerge from it in 2020.
